Marius is a partner at Guldemond Advocaten specializing in corporate law and real estate law. In his daily practice, he advises and litigates on matters including lease agreements, management and franchise contracts, acquisitions, and the (re)development of commercial real estate. He mainly works for companies in the hotel, real estate, and leisure sectors.

Experience in law and business

Marius worked for seven years at a medium-sized commercial law firm in Amsterdam, where he advised and litigated for corporate clients. He then made the switch to the business world as a lawyer, where he worked for six years as Head of Legal/General Counsel for international hotel chains, responsible for commercial contracts, acquisitions, and strategic projects, among other things.
In that role, he was the member of the management team who determined the essential (litigation) strategy during the COVID pandemic and led (international) teams of lawyers to enforce landmark case law that was not only critical to the survival of the company he worked for, but also proved to be significant for the entire sector.
Thanks to this cutting-edge experience in multidisciplinary teams of management and advisors, connecting challenging commercial objectives with legal expertise has become second nature to him. At Guldemond Advocaten, he now uses these skills for a broad group of business clients, whom he can now serve in an even wider field.
